Alka is a self motivated and passionate yoga instructor, who was inspired by her uncle Dr Malhotra, who practiced the yogic philosophy and Kriyas into his nineties.

She travelled to Mumbai, India for her yoga training, completing a Hatha yoga course at the renowned Academy of Yoga School in Santa Cruz.

Alka then went on to qualifying further and completed the Karuna teacher training program with Ruth White. Ruth White's training is Iyengar inspired and was trained by the guru himself.

I enjoy Alka's yoga class for its combination of challenging physical exercises, mental wellbeing and spiritual happiness that it provides me. I personally feel the benefits of it right after each session. I've tried different yoga classes and styles before and after and find that this is by far the one that meets my expectations. more...

She has developed her own unique style of teaching where she combines mixed ability in one class, whether it is a beginner, intermediate or even someone who is pregnant. Her classes are quite challenging although at the end of the class one is left completely relaxed.

She has created a warm and friendly ambience in her studio with soft lighting and candles.
